Assembly, Test & Inspection

Automation continues to benefit manufacturers by increasing productivity and quality of products while reducing labor costs and addressing ergonomic concerns. rate is here to support your automation initiatives from consultation and planning development to specifying components, building small sub-assemblies, or connecting you with an integration partner. We’re here to help you make the right decision and meet your automation objectives.

Assembly

Assembly is the number one area where manufacturers turn to automation. Main drivers are reallocating labor, optimizing difficult or ergonomically demanding tasks, increasing speed or through-put, and performing high-precision tasks.

With decades of automation and manufacturing experience, rate is here to assists with components including material handling, parts feeding, control systems, robotics, and mechatronics.

rate is also here to support outsourcing of turnkey projects, retrofits, and design specification. Our broad industry experience ranges from automotive to consumer products, electronics, medical, metal forming, batteries, food & beverage, and many more.

Test

Testing is the first line of validation and verification of an automated process. Once a component has been assembled, the assembly can typically be tested to prove functionality before adding additional value to the component. In many cases the tests can be performed within the automated cell without removing it from the primary system.

Examples of automated testing includes flow tests, pressure decay, electrical continuity, voltage or resistance, part presence, color sensing, cavity depths (LVDT), and many more.

rate is here to support your transition from proven manual test to an automated system or assist with automation development.

Inspection

Inspection is integral within quality control processes. Redundant verification is critical to prove that downstream processes, regardless of how robust, have been performed properly, and output data is valuable to keep control measures in line.

Machine vision, sensors, and even manual inspection via augmented reality are proven technologies of which rate can support.
